Youth Ministry

Students participate in the annual Living Rosary, where each student wrote a prayer intention and placed it by the Blessed Mother. At the end of the Rosary each student was given a balloon that represented their prayer intention.

Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them;for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

Rooted

3rd - 5th Grade: Rooted is a youth program for 3rd to 5th graders seeking a greater relationship with Christ. Rooted events are centered around faith development, building community, and having fun! Cost is $15 per child. For more information, please contact Kelli at (337) 332-2159 x 250 or kelli@stbernardch.com.

Schedule: Rooted will meet once a month for an hour in the Borel Center.  The children will be engaged in fun activities and games while incorporating a special Feast Day or Saint from the Liturgical calendar. Fall 2021 Dates TBD.

EDGE

6th - 8th Grade: Edge is a middle school Catholic youth ministry program built by LifeTeen. It is open at our parish to all current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Edge is separate from the Parish School of Religion and focuses on the middle school kids having a community of their peers at their local Catholic parish. Each Edge Night focuses on something different about our faith, inviting the participants to go deeper personally and as a community. We welcome all of our middle school parishioners to join Edge this year! For more information, please contact Kaitlin Davis at davis.kaitlin.2093@gmail.com.

Schedule: Our Edge nights will be once a month on the following Sundays, from 3:30-5:00 PM. We will always finish with 5:00 PM Mass and encourage the kids to attend that mass with their peers. Fall 2021 Dates TBD.

VIA

9th - 12th Grade: VIA is a high school youth ministry program built with our teens and parish in mind. We want to give our teens a place to pray, belong, and serve as active members of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Each VIA night will focus on an aspect of the faith that teens will be invited to take personal responsibility for. VIA means “the way” in Latin, and is being taken from Jesus’ words “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).  We invite our teens to know and live the Way of Jesus Christ to the fullest this year! For more information, please contact Kaitlin Davis at davis.kaitlin.2093@gmail.com.

Schedule: Our VIA nights will be once a month on the following Sundays, from 6:00-7:30 PM. Teens are encouraged to attend the 5:00 PM Sunday Mass with their peers immediately before the VIA night begins.  Fall 2021 Dates TBD.
