Tunes on the Teche Team Registration

Tunes on the Teche is a family-friendly, live music event hosted by St. Bernard Church that is open to the whole community. Our spring and fall Tunes is held in conjuction with a cookoff. Profits made during the event will go to St. Bernard Church for hosting future community events in Breaux Bridge. Thank you for your participation and support!

Location and Time: Parc des Ponts, Breaux Bridge on October 31st from 2-7 PM

Registration: Closes on Friday, October 30th at Noon

Rules:

  1. $50.00 team registration fee per recipe entered. Registration closes October 31 at Noon.

  2. Payments can be made by cash, check, or venmo. Venmo is @StBernardCatholicChurch. Checks can be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church. Cash and checks should be sent to 219 E Bridge Street, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517.

  3. Teams may begin setting up on Friday, October 30th, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Set-up on Saturday will begin at 9:00 AM, and cooking may begin at that time. 

  4. The event starts at 2:00 PM. Serving of judges and the public will begin at 4:00 PM. 

  5. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for Judges' Choice and a People's Choice winner. The winners will be announced at 7 PM.

  6. Teams should prepare enough chili for 4 judges and 100 people. Teams will be provided with 8oz boats to serve both judges and the public with.

  7. There will be a tent decorating competition with a prize for 1st place.

  8. Teams must bring their own tents, burners, ingredients, cooking utensils, and tables for cooking. Tunes on the Teche will provide serving boats, plastic spoons, napkins, and garbage bags for each team. 

  9. Teams may prepare and enter more than one recipe for judging. Teams must pay a registration fee for each entry.

  10. Chili must be cooked from scratch at the site. Roux and smoked ingredients may be prepared earlier. 

  11. Teams must keep areas clean during the event and must not dump liquids at the site of the event. 

  12. Alcoholic beverages are sold on site by Tunes on the Teche, with profits going to St. Bernard Church. You may bring drinks for team members only, but no glass containers allowed. 

  13. Wristbands will be sold for $10 to eat chili from the cookoff. Each team will receive 4 wristbands as part of registration.
